On June 23-25, 2026, the 3rd European Competition of the Best Young Metrologists in Ukraine was held at the State Enterprise "IVANO-FRANKIVSKSTANDARTMETROLOGY".

Awarding Ceremony:

    The competition is co-hosted and organized by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, SE "IVANO-FRANKIVSKSTANDARTMETROLOGY", and the German National Metrology Institute (PTB).

    The competition aims to motivate a new generation of metrologists to demonstrate their excellence and potential for a prosperous European future of Ukraine.

    This European competition is an initiative to promote young Ukrainian professionals in the field of metrology.

The competition is organized in a hybrid mode:

- onsite presence of participants in Ivano-Frankivsk

- online participation of the selection committee

- online streaming for a public audience

    The working language of the competition is English.

    Costs for accommodation and meals are covered.

    The competition is divided into three categories:

1. Scientific Research (including the research in the framework of the European Green Deal)

    Applications can be submitted on metrology research topics by Bachelor-, Master- or PhD students, private sector research or public research institutions.

2. ISO/IEC 17025 or ISO/IEC 17043 daily work

    Applications can be submitted on metrology topics resulting from the implementation of ISO/IEC 17025 or ISO/IEC 17043.

3. European legal metrology (Conformity assessment of measuring instruments, etc.)

    Applications can be submitted on metrology topics related to the implementation of the European Directives MID, NAWID and the respective transposed Ukrainian technical regulations 163, 1062.

    Candidates of the competition are eligible under the following criteria:

- age from 20 years to 35 years

-  resident in Ukraine

- completed application and article by 15.04.2026

    Applications are eligible by individual candidates or nominees of public or private organizations such as universities, industry, accredited calibration laboratories, state metrology centers etc.

    The application consists of:

- to complete the registration page

-to submit a 2-page paper on the topic in English

- application and article deadline: 15.04.2026

    Selection Criteria:

- relevance of the topic and practical value of the results obtained

- quality of the abstract/paper

- quality of the presentation

    ТОВАРИСТВО З ОБМЕЖЕНОЮ ВІДПОВІДАЛЬНІСТЮ «ІВАНО-ФРАНКІВСЬКИЙ НАУКОВО-ВИРОБНИЧИЙ ЦЕНТР СТАНДАРТИЗАЦІЇ, МЕТРОЛОГІЇ ТА СЕРТИФІКАЦІЇ» буде повним правонаступником усіх майнових і немайнових прав та обов’язків ДЕРЖАВНОГО ПІДПРИЄМСТВА «ІВАНО-ФРАНКІВСЬКИЙ НАУКОВО-ВИРОБНИЧИЙ ЦЕНТР СТАНДАРТИЗАЦІЇ, МЕТРОЛОГІЇ ТА СЕРТИФІКАЦІЇ».
